Hi, we’re looking at USD workflows, specifically at Shading and Lighting right now.
I’ve been looking at MaterialX within Maya’s LookdevX. I want to get a PBR shader built, with all the appropriate texture inputs and I’ve ended up with the graph in the attached image. I don’t know if I have all the connections and attributes correct. To test, I’m rendering with Arnold in Maya and also using Karma in Houdini. The base colour seems fine but the metallic and roughness don’t appear to have any effect. The displacement works in Karma but not in Arnold (in Maya or Houdini).
I’m not sure if I have things set up wrongly or maybe it’s just a rendering support issue. Does anyone have any experience rendering USD MaterialX, whether built with LookdevX or not? Any tips or pointers?
