I vaguely remember a thread about this in the past, don’t remember exactly where…
as part of other discussions about trying to use USD as the only file for describing a scene (recipe and composed result), is there anything going on possibly related to “host schema” or something to standardize how, from a usd-file, would it possible to recreate the host-specific representations used to generate that same usd file ?

Hi @paoloemilioselva ! I think what you’re getting at would be covered by what we’ve been calling “per-stage schemas” (i.e. definitions for schemas that travel with a scene, while functioning (for that stage) just like a codeless schema that’s been defined as a plugin). That is still a project on our roadmap, though we can’t provide a releas-by date yet.
