# Where/what is \`hdGen/schema.py\`?

Hi,  
I was trying to implement a Hydra2 HdSchema copying `pxr/usdImaging/usdImaging/directMaterialBindingSchema.h` and in it I found a message saying that the file was generated using `hdGen/schema.py` but I can’t quite figure our where that file is, can anyone give me a hint please?

I’m kinda assuming it’d be something similar to `usdGenSchema`

I’m working with USD 24.03, because I’m on VFX Ref Platform CY2024

Hi Luca,  
Could it be :  
[OpenUSD/pxr/imaging/hd/hdGenSchema.py at release · PixarAnimationStudios/OpenUSD · GitHub](https://github.com/PixarAnimationStudios/OpenUSD/blob/release/pxr/imaging/hd/hdGenSchema.py) ?  
But as far as I can tell, this file was not in 24.03.

In recent releases it seems to be :

> <https://github.com/PixarAnimationStudios/OpenUSD/blob/release/pxr/imaging/hd/hdSchemaDefs.py>

Which was not in 24.03 I think.
